VA Loan Rates

VA Loan rates change daily — and the rate you’re quoted depends as much on who’s quoting as on the market. Banks quote their own rate sheet; CDL Mortgage shops multiple wholesale lenders on every va loan and shows you the best pricing across the market.

The fastest way to know your real rate is a quick scenario quote: your credit range, loan amount, and property details. We’ll price it across our lender panel the same day, with no credit pull required for an initial quote.

What determines your va loan rate

  • Credit score — higher scores unlock the best va loan pricing tiers; even a 20-point improvement can change your rate.

  • Down payment / equity — a lower loan-to-value means less lender risk and better pricing.

  • Loan amount & property type — loan sizing and single-family vs. condo or multi-unit both affect your rate.

  • Occupancy — primary residences price better than second homes and investment properties.

  • Points & credits — pay discount points for a lower rate, or take a lender credit toward closing costs.

  • Lock timing — rates move daily; we watch the market and lock when the timing is right for you.

Questions

VA Loans FAQs

Do VA loans really require no down payment?

Yes. Eligible veterans and service members can finance up to 100% of the home’s value with $0 down, making the VA loan one of the most powerful benefits available. There is no monthly private mortgage insurance either.

Who is eligible for a VA loan?

Veterans, active-duty service members, National Guard and Reserve members, and certain surviving spouses may qualify. You’ll need a Certificate of Eligibility (COE), which we can help you obtain during pre-approval.

What is the VA funding fee?

The VA funding fee is a one-time charge that helps sustain the program. It varies based on your down payment and whether it’s your first VA loan. Veterans receiving VA disability compensation are typically exempt from the funding fee entirely.

What is a VA IRRRL?

The Interest Rate Reduction Refinance Loan (IRRRL), or VA Streamline, lets existing VA borrowers refinance to a lower rate with minimal paperwork, no appraisal in most cases, and no new Certificate of Eligibility. It’s one of the fastest refinances available.

Can I use my VA loan more than once?

Yes. VA loan benefits can be reused throughout your life, and you may even have more than one VA loan at a time in certain situations. We’ll calculate your remaining entitlement so you know exactly what you qualify for.
